Chevy has always made a long and a short nose waterpump. Maybe one of the chevy guys can pipe in with a part number for you. Hope it is short enough for your space.

guys, theres got to be a 4 or 4 1/2" electric pump. anyone have one on there rod.

  5. 4 " water pump ?
What about a zips riser ? Doesn't that use a super short pump ?
    Remote electric maybe will fit.

5" from face if block to rad. 1" for the timing cover. That leaves 4" for an electric motor and a pump. Might be a rough one but I hope its not.

    google "MEZIERE ENTERPRISE"
    or 800 2081755

they make electric water pumps/adapters/ everything you could ever need for any engine, offroad, drags, bonneville, circle track, street.
they are in north san diego county and ship anywhere.
All major speed suppliers sells their stuff as it is quality.
    They are racers themselves.

I don't suppose it's possible to move the motor back a couple of inches, is it?

You could use offset engine mounts and gain an inch or two without changing the frame mounts.....

You have a couple inches behind that engine, plus get rid of the bulky HEI you may gain a bit more.

pop it out, carefully remove the mounts ant put it all back together again...of course using "argon miged" welds....

Don't short change the cooling system or the car for that matter. just because it was done does not mean it's the best way to do it. Do it right, it's the perfect time to change things up.

JEGs and Summit both have catalogs with lots of different water pump vendors including electric.
Some may be strictly racing though.

  14. Moroso makes a pump for dirt track racers, it is durable enough for a streeter (I know guys that run 'em). I don't recall the part number or the depth right off hand, but is you call the summit tech line (call 800 230 3030 and get the number) they can make sure that the dims are good for you and give you the part number. Please don't take this as shameless spam.

You can also contact DMarv here on the spam, he owns Exiter Auto in Exiter Calif. he ships and may be able to help as well.

By the way the offset mounts are also a good idea, they would be inespensive and alow for a mechanical fan and possibly fan without a spacer.

  15. This from MOROSO, has a 5" height, should be #63539, don't forget to get the hose adapter too, good luck, TR

You might want to consider a remote mount pump with block adaptors. This would allow you to run a pump with more water flow. For most street applications you want to get something that flows 50+ gallons per minutes. I'm not sure how much horsepower your makeing. at only 19gpm for the moroso unit above wouldn't be enough for a V8 make more then 200 hp on gas.

  18. I don't know what forums you are used to, but here on the HAMB we either know or we research before we blurt out rediculous and irresponsible statements with no merit.

Call 203-458-0542 that's MOROSO's tech line, after that then try and read our instructions before posting here on this forum and do a intro.

Let me quess, you are probably one of those geniuses installing a high volume oil pump and high voume water pump on your stock rebuild and are busy right now huh. Come back when you have a clue. TR

Sorry, been on here for a few months and thought i had done a intro and posted a few times. My bad. I'm on a few other forums and maybe i was confused on which forums i have posted on. I know a little bit about electric water pumps so i thought i could help a guy out with a little advice.

And as far as my statement i stand behind it. I checked moroso website before posting and it said 19gpm for the pump posted in this thread. Which would be fine for a drag race car just not a street car. in my opinion. they make higher flowing electric water pumps that would be better suited for a street car but with his space issue he would need to run a remote.

Thanks TR for pointing out that i need to do a intro. i will post something tonight
