probably not what you think. I just cant seem to bring myself to be a ****head to people on CL and other places that are selling things, like they are to me. I have never...and I mean never....lied to anyone or tried to get bukoos of cash from anyone. I have always stayed true to my word and heck, I've even given **** away. But, I just don't get people when they have something to sell and you call to talk to them or they don't list with pics and then you ask for pics and you've just totally put them out. I'm also a fair hagler with people and try to give a fair shake when I am in that situation. I'm not going to ask someone who has a 5000 dollar price to sell it to me for 2000. But I will see if they can come down a bit. That's part of it. So, if it pisses you off that people ask for a lower price and want to hagle with you, then put the price that is your bottome dollar to start with and list it with great big freakin letters.....BOTTOM LINE, FIRM PRICE, WILL NOT BUDGE SO DON"T ASK

  2. Stoney,
I get the fair shake and honesty part of it I am with you on that, but when it comes to being a **** head I could be a **** head to a Nun if she deserved it. I'll be civil with about anyone until they prove that my being civil is not what is warranted in a given situation.

Anyway continue to treat those that deserve it well and let the rest of 'em eat worms if they can't take a joke.

I am the same way. I have gotten violated a couple times so I have to be a little less trusting of people but I wont try and get one over on someone else. I sometimes go way out of my way to explain things sometimes which ends up costing me but at least I dont have to worry about someone calling me up pissed about something.

  4. I over explain things and people get pissed at me anyway. Hell I have given things to people and had them ***** about it. I just write 'em off, sometimes I am less than polite on the process of writing them off.

People are just people most of the time I am good at recogniozing that and it keeps me from being upset all the time. Sometimes I forget that people are just people and let them get under my skin but most of the time I don't.

that's pretty dang funny ******. Yeah, I know....I'm just venting. You are all correct. Heck fire, I've ticked off people on here before not meaning too. But, i do like to forgive and forget and just get on down the road. I'm also not being nice to people in hopes that someday it will pay off for me...I'm just that way.

I agree with all if it matters to anyone. I think most people either need someone to visit with, or figure if you come see it they can talk you into not leaving without it.

When I advertise something I have a method of weeding out the low-ballers and tire kickers. The first person that actually comes to see my goods gets a great buy. Sometimes it takes a while.

What gets me the most are Picker Jackson types who want me to supply their kids with an inheritance.

Hmmmm.....Why is it, if a parts store lists something for a price, that's it? But if a individual advertises something for a price, then everyone thinks they get to haggle over the price?

Why does a individual have to put in their listing, OPEN TO PRICE HAGGLING, or PRICE FIRM? The parts store doesn't advertise their parts prices that way.

It might work for trying to buy a Mexican blanket down in Turisto, Mexico from a street vendor. Is this where folks come up with the haggling over something a individual sells?

There's two ways to sell: Ask the highest possible price and haggle your way down...or, start with your lowest price and hope wise people spy what a good deal it is and snap it up.

If you start high, you risk scaring away the people who really know what it's worth.

If you start with your best price, you risk attracting all the mooches who want it for free.
