They are not so bad. I've done a few of them. Well actually its a pretty good set up for the money, even at $185.

Do you mean every wire is black ? That would not be good, no way to ever trace a problem and even installing it must be fun ! Color coded is the only way to go.

How about a Rebel 9 + 3 kit ? Depending on how many accessories you have they are a great kit for the money. I installed one on my 27 and will also use one on my rpu project.

Those all black wires are ok. Because the all are labeled for what they go to about every 8"-12". Also with the black you don't have a rainbow under the dash.

HAHA! Get a kit from Speedway, it's $140 for a 12 circuit (which is all you really need) and $160 for their 20 circuit setup... and you never SEE the wires if you do it right... all black wires sounds great if love making things really hard on yourself.

I used one in my car and it was fine. All the wires are labled and it was easy.

  13. I have used at least 5 of them and they are no more of a problem than a colored one. just pull the extra circuit from the back if you do not plan on using that circuit. if you think you might add it later coil it up and wire tie it up.

I've had the ez wire kit in my car for 4 years with no problems. easy to install...real easy with the color coded wires. don't think I'd be keen on all black wires though. I'd definatly get the full size fuse box. I'd also figure out how many circuits I was going to run and get the one I needed. I have an 18 and have a ton of unused wires.

I guess it wouldn't matter if your color blind. But I would prefer colored wires, easier to trace........

All black might be okay if you can easily identify where it goes. If you have access to a wire marker system, you can make up shrink sleeves with the destinations on them.

    How old are you/
    How are your eyes?
The quality is top knotch,Mine is 10 years old now,but as it is all one color, and your upside down under the dash it's hard for me to see the printing on the wires.
    (but i'm an old fart.)
    They are good kits.

If you tag everything and route them in appropriate bundles, it will be manageable. I've taken old harnesses out, nailed them to a piece of plywood and "built" the new harness on top of it. That way you get the breakouts pretty close to factory.

48ford hit the nail on the head i have 2 ez wire harnesses 1 black 1 colored . when i was younger and the eyes worked better about 15 yrs ago all black was no problem . 15 yrs later the writing is much hardewr to see and i would use the colored wire if i had to do it again

  23. Cool !
What color are you going to paint it. Lol

No way in hell would I use a mono color harness.
But I usual have 100-160 wires at the big end. That's much different than only 22 of them total.
Still wouldn't do it , EVER - even if it was free! the few bucks you save (25.00 in this case) are eaten up the first time you have to troubleshooting something.

Here's the thing. It is a personal preference. But if you do it right ALL of the exposed wiring is covered anyway. I personally use painless wiring. I use the 8 circuit modular harness. I can put it in the trunk if I want. Comes with most of the connectors too. You can get harnesses that even have the switches with them already. They even have the zip ties. But I have noticed a trend with you. Ask for advie alot. Then, don't use it. And as already shown, you already have the personal prefernce for the all black kit. So my questions to you is, why even ask?

I fitted a Speedway unit in my 32 was really simple and in the areas where it showed such as the engine bay I just wrapped it in black electrical tap.

I want to know what others think about the kit and what they do. Doesnt mean I have to use it. Either way...what does it matter?

I guess I'm older than I thought. Ive always had a spool rack on the wall with 30 different colors/sizes on 100 0r 50 foot spools.Useing this ,I always made my own for cars, boats, even my KW motor home. I'm too old school to buy into someone elses plan for my wireing, but thats just me.

Trying to troubleshoot an all black harness is easy, you know the problem is with the "black wire". Simple as that.

i used an all black harness in my `29 last winter and it was harder to keep track of the wires with my old eyes but the finished product looked nicer and hid better. I`d probably do it again..

And I paid $75.00 for it at a swap meet(9 circuit) new in the box.

Neither is "easy" but either one works if one is confidant in their abilities. peace
