Is this a 49-51 Ford 8ba intake or an earlier one. The oil and road draft tube locations on this intake are in different places and they are not machined open. Thanks for any help.

that is not a 49 -51 intake, could you post a larger pic so we can see where the sealed holes are. some intakes can be machined to take the oil and road draft tube into the sealed holes.

All the Navarro intakes that HNH sells are designed to be used with all Flatheads

Do you have a picture of the underside of the manifold?

I'll get one for the underside too.

As Tommy stated, that intake is designed to be used on early and late flatheads, and is what I'm running on my '32. This is one of THE best tripple intakes ever made, and is very well suited for running straight linkage with 97s.

Keep in mind the carb flanges are flat, like '32-'48s, not 3 degree angled like the later '49-'53s, so if used on a '49-'53 car, the carbs will be angled/tilted to the rear, JFYI. :)

Right, and of course the reason here is to make one casting serve two purposes. The holes would have been cut open and carb pads angle milled if the thing was to be sold as a '49.

Thanks everyone I'm gonna run it then and maybe just run the two outside carbs. It was given to me and I'm glad I can use it. I don't know if my stock flattie can handle 3 carbs.

I run an Offy 3x2 on my 8ba with a 48 in the center and my 97's on each end are blocked off. Works great. If you're putting that manifold on your avatar Club Coupe seems like you're more interested in cruising. So, I would re-think running off of just the two end carbs. Just my 2 cents.

Agreed... I have one of my 97's blocked off... with the 2 carbs it was nuts trying to keep it running good.. 1 carb is all ya need on a stock to mild flatty... she runs great now and still looks cool..

8BA manifolds have a "port" on the p*** side, front...to accomodate the crankcase vent tube. By shortening or removing that tube (it's in the lifter gallery), the 59A intakes can be used.

Ok I'll run one and block the other two carbs.
