This is for one of my daily drivers... 92 Eagle Talon TSi I have this shake in the stearing wheel. It a back and forth movement of about an inch. The very odd thing is if the car sits for 5-10 min not moving it doesn't do it right away. It slowly builds until I feel like I'm going to break something if I keep going. This is driving me nuts! Any Ideas?
Well I think I got it figured out. I had to do an axle up front a while back, before I had any place to work on my own car, and when that was done the wheel bearing nut was put on too tight. Doesn't seem to have ruined the wheel bearing. Took it all apart, took the hub off. The bearing seems to spin fine, put some more grease in the and back together it went. Seems ok.
Mike, If that wasn't it check your tires. I had a tread separate on the Audi and it shook quite a bit. Changed the tire and all is better. New Pilot sports are in my future soon.
isnt it odd though how chrysler, mitsubishi, and mercedes all managed to come together like one big family 60 years after? all three were chief manufacturers of their "home" nation's war machines. i think too much aout **** like that i guess.
I drive an MGB GT. It's from the people who burned down the White House once, and burned New Orleans to the ground, or, swamp as the case may be, half my family's home town. Oh, the other half of the family is from England.... So, Give it a rest, everybody has invaded everybody else at one time or another. Or give all the Pontiacs back to the Indians, especially the Firebirds. If they want them... Yea, Indians shouldn't buy any cars at all from the White people who waged genocide against them across the continent... Are you so ****ing perfect? Pure? Don't tell me you're forgiven, I don't wanna throw up...
This car, a Talon, and all the Eclipses were made in....Illinois? Wow, that don't sound right...and at the same time that Detroit was looking for deals on labor in the third world? Ballsy move on Japan's part...trying to offer American workers a living wage instead of lowballing some villagers somewhere.
I had a problem like this a while back. If you still have problems after fixing the joint, it could be your struts. I got new front struts and it drove great afterwards. I think they're supposed to be changed at 75k or so.
I've got a Talon for a driver. 30mpg beats the **** outta the 15 I was getting with my truck. I've got the service manual for it on CD if you need any info.
Guy here at work drives a '97 Eclipse AWD turbo. Man that thing hals ***! We're still workin' out the turbo lag but it's almost there. Friggin rocket with the all wheel drive.
