Took a few pix of an interesting & unique early small blk chevy intake manifold a friend recently stumbled upon by chance and bought on a whim. He asked if I new anything about it, but it was unfamiliar to me. I showed it to my father in law whom is usually very knowledgeable and it was a "head scratcher" even for him, with the exception of the Weiand "6 x 2" piece for a 4-71 GMC roots-style blower. He only could say that there was a racer with the last name "Cagle" and that the intake appeared to be made for a 4-71 blower and guessed it was cast in the early sixties, possiblye late fifties for a 283 cid small block chevy V-8. Anyone out there with any history/background/facts/figures to share with regard to this unique intake manifold? Thanks! pre48v8
...Still looking for any info. re: this unique intake manifold any HAMBer's might have to share. Thanks for those who've posted thus far.....pre48v-8
I just bought a manifold like that one. It has Cagle casted on one intake runner and young on the next runner. It doesn't appear to be for a 471(too narrow) but I can send pix through my phone if you like? Just give me a pm.
