I'm wanting to order an underfloor frame mount brake pedal setup. It's going in my 46' Harvester with a Jaguar IFS with an Explorer 8.8 Disc brake Rear Axle. With the Big discs on the Jag frontend and disc brakes out back, I ***ume I should order one with the dual booster for better stopping power. I've found plenty in the $180-$299 range. My question is what questions should I be asking, what to make sure it has. I notice a lot are vehicle specific and some listed as universal. The angles of the brake pedal arms are different. This is my first time using one of these and with no experience, don't want to order the wrong style, especially the pedal arm itself. Any advice would be appreciated.
First I'd get some info on what size M/C would be compatable with both the Jag and Explore Calipers. Being it's. a '46 Harvester you'll probably only find a universal brake pedal. May have to modify the mount to fit your frame. Aftermarket pedals can be bent and modified. Just keep in mind to keep the pedal ratio, travel correct. Also with power booster you need a decent vacuum source from your engine.
What I've been looking at has the Corvette MC w/1" bore, and most have a single 7" booster. What I'm finding is most offer a dual diaphram 7" booster as well. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-S...Parts_Accessories&hash=item589196b021&vxp=mtr
Unless your moving real big weight a 7 in will do. I just installed 1 on my 51 chevy car, had to cut, bend and fit the pedal. good luck
