Anyone going to the hershey swap this fall? This will be my first time.Hoping to have my money saved up for a model a body, but probably just spend it all on chocolate. Im getting pretty fat.
Hershey is a marathon event, with every car part ever made spread out over miles of crowded swap meet--you gotta prepare. Second mortgage. Physical training. Divorce. Map showing ATM's locations. Wagon. You just can't believe the scale of Hershey--everything you ever wanted in the automotive line is there--somewhere.
I'll be there, but not sure which day. Hershey is so big that you really could not see it all in one day. You might make a list before you go,especially if you are looking for something specific. It took me most of the day to find a POR-15 dealer-mostly by continually asking people with POR-15 bags where they got them. Best of all,Hershey is $% to park and admission is free. What part of Almost Heaven are you from? I used to live in Ritchie County.
96 dollars to park? Im jackson county, wv (ripley) but currently live in huntington, and work at an auto auction in st. albans.
ive been there every year since before i was born (think about that one) so i'll surely be back this year..i only live 10 miles away i think most everyone close by goes get there early zach
I'll be there with 32Flammedcoupe...we have 6 spots accross from Pauls Chrome...RNI-76...stop by and say hi!
I haven't missed a year since 1969! Stop by Space C4J 41-42 and say hello. I'm on the other side of the Brookville trailer, great landmark. That is the #1 tip to first time guys TAKE NOTES as to where things are, or just BUY It when you see it. Nothing worse than desideing to go back and try to find something later.
Well, if you haven't had a flea market space since 1962 you're a little late to reserve one for this decade...
We go every year, usually vend. If you have something to sell and don't have a spot maybe someone will let you put it on their spot. That is what we do about 3 of us share, if we can't get one of our own. You can usually find someone selling a spot for the weekend but be prepared to pay.
Where and when do they have it at? My *** is In Tx but im was born and raised in Hershey till 79. When my mom thought Tx would be a better place. Go figure. I go back to visit every yr. And usually stay about a week. Hershey and E-town is where we stay. Id really like to plan my trip around this swap if its as good as they say it is. Thanks mike
The earlier you get there the better. And make sure you have a room reserved, prices go WAY up for that week. I stayed in Mechanicsburg last time,a few miles further, but MUCH less expensive.
I'll be there all week, forget our spot numbers but it's in the white field. This will be my 25th year.
I havn't been since '88. Do the let you camp out in your vehicle in the parking lots? I have an 85 Elky that I was gonna bunk in the back while I'm there. I have some friends with a full-up motor-home that will let me shower etc.
I plan on going this year, haven't been there in quite a few years. I have been trying to find a hotel, but not much luck so far. Any info on available rooms would be appreciated.
We stay at a motel that used to be the Fort motel--damn, will get right name tomorrow-about half an hour east of Hershey. Cheap, always available, and best trucker's breakfast in universe is between there and Hershey... Anything much closer than that would require actual planning and possibly money. There are camp sites, but you cannot sleep in the regular parking lots. They get cleared out at night, and I think the local police do not like people sleeping in cars in the area.
I'll be there everyday. Get there early or else you have to pay shipping just to get the parts back to where you parked. Or hook up with someone in the know.
I'll be there but I bet you haven't saved enough money to buy a body at hershey. It would be cheaper to fly to Africa and find one in the bush and fly it home, less walking that way too...
Hell, I drive by it everyday. I'll be waiting for you guys to show up. I live 1 1/2 miles from the Giant Center.
HERSHEY!!!!!!! It ****s stay away! Except you guys sellin stuff I'll be there all week. I've got a spot up by the stadium with Larry. Clark
I think I will probably go, there are a few things I'd like to find for my Buick. But I really hope I find the stuff i need around here, if I go to hershey I'm sure I will come back with tons of stuff I don't need, and none of the stuff I did.
My buddy and I are planning to go on saturday if everything goes alright. This will be our first time to fall Hershey. We usually go to fall Carlisle. I went years ago to spring Hershey thats it. Hope to meet up with alot of Hamber's. later shawn
Plmczy and any other virgin, make sure you are there by Fri. at 11:00? for the race car reliability runs in the stadium. Maybe Connie Kulita's original Bounty Hunter, maybe Bruce Larson's '68 Camaro funny, Offy powered Indy Cars, and some old relics that 37 knows all about. It's as close to a hotrod as you will see in the AACA for now, but just hearing those things echo of the stadium gets the heart thumpin'. Plan to visit EMMR, too, that's Eastern Museum of Motor Racing close to Dillsburg, Pa. And the AACA museum about 1 1/2 miles from the Giant Center.
