Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for some time now... Getting geared up for a project and need to bounce this off you all. I have a 1939 Ford pickup that I fixed up as a high school shop project. It's time to take it all apart and update everything. The frame under it currently was repaired but I'll be replacing it with another standard frame that I'm currently searching for. Question is this... I'm looking at a 1973 Maverick to use parts from. Its a V8 car, has an 8 inch rear with 5 lug hubs, disc brakes on the front, C4 auto trans, 302, power stearing, etc... Basically I'm wondering if anyone has done this using both front and rears utilizing CE conversion kits, etc. Any advice?
As far as using the Maverick for parts,,no problem. I built a 39 Ford Convertible and used a Maverick rear axle, and used the disc brakes and calipers with the CI disc brake kit to fit the 39 Ford spindles. Chassis Engineering was able to supply me with everything I need to bolt the components to the early Ford frame..HRP
So I assume you used their dropped axle front kit? Maybe ill give chassis engineering a call... Thanks for the help.
