I think this was Dave's first HENRY HIRISE cartoon for Street Rodder. Wouldn't it be great if some one like Roddders Journal did a book on Dave or at least an in depth article.....
Thanks Jim for being there for some of us that knew Dave well. Your understanding and comp***ion are greatly appreciated by me.
My condolences to his family. I remember back in the seventies here in Sweden it was hard to lay your hands on Street Rodder Magazine, there was a store up in Stockholm that saved a monthly copy for me, And every third month or so i drove 200km oneway to get my copies. And the best part was Henry Hirise on the last page, It felt like christmas everytime. Thanks Dave. //////Lars B
Gary; Dave was blessed with an immense talent that he used to touch so many people, including myself. We will all miss him but I'm sure we are all thankful that he is not suffering anymore. The stories that were told about Dave were priceless. Even though I didn't know him as long or as intimately as you did, there were a few times I experienced his 2 hour phone conversations. I would of not been there. Take care Jim
Denise: your a Cl*** act in my book. Prayers for Daves family as they deal with the pain of his loss.
To SUNROOFCORD, Thanks a bunch for the post of Dave's wake. He was a great guy and artist. I wish I could have been there.

Very Sad to hear about Dave Bell, I always loved how he cartooned actual cars and people over the years. I always looked forward to seeing what he would come up with each month, all the little details in the entire comic strip, and the tires always said something cool. His art will live forever, and has inspired so many people and guys that built cars after one of his cartoons (Cop Shop Coupe/Tom Prufers 3-window coupe). He will be well missed and I feel very fortunate to have met him at the LA Roadster show a few years back.
Dave Bell Tribute Song By Dave Schaub posted with his permission Dave says; The song was a healing process for me and working on it gave me peace. I hope it will do the same to all who hear it. <table cl***="cf hr" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td cl***="hw"></td><td>dave bell.mp3 9939K Play Download </td></tr></tbody></table>
A SHOCK,I meet DAVE a long time ago he put me in one of his cartoons,we meet again last July,I DAVE WAS A NICE BLOKE,,,RIP MATE,,RODNEY DOWNUNDER AND BOB 409
I was very very taken back by the news of Daves p***ing. He was a super guy and a great great artist, an American icon. Dave's body of work is unreal, always meeting those "deadlines". He spent some time with me at home, an upon my heart attack and surgery did a cartoon of the event, which appeared . He had a fondness of the Aztec and used it a few times as well as some of my other cars. A large Lead East signed is a mind binder to look at. My he rest in peace..R.I.P. DAVE!
