I have a buddy contemplating building one to rent out while he is not using it. I just wondered how much time was allotted and what the cost is to rent a nice downdraft system? No baking, just air dry.
No deposit required. Must use your own gun. All that is supplied is the airline and place to shoot.. There is a general understanding that if you leave a mess or are an *** or whatever, you are not welcome back....EVILT
Here in Denver, the one place I looked at was $25/hr, air dry, no prep area available, just the booth and hookup for the piped-in air. Hank
here in E.LA is $60 for 3 hrs and $10 deposit. if you book the booth for 2:30 pm you can leave the car overnight. no prep available, just masking. they also have a booth big enough to do an RV. oh yeah it's also a paint store so you can get all your supplies there too.
I remember the days when I was in the military.......more specifically the Air Force bases....they usually had an auto-hobby shop for the do-it yourselfers like me..... $1.50 got you the booth for the whole day....and if they liked you, you could leave it over night. I painted so many cars back then, the civilians working there didn't ask me for an ID...they just let me have a run of the place. I would do custom painting with patterns and candies and flake......usually, there was a crowd looking in the paint booth windows watching me from start to finish, ah, the good ol days........ around here I can get a booth for $100 a day.....plus the overnight stay.....I have a lot of friends that I'll do a little trade work for......so, I can get a free days worth ....within reason....
Hey, $65-$85 buys ya three hours in a booth, here in SoCal. Don't even think of showin up with an old siphon type gun, their use has been outlawed since 1990. S****ey Devils C.C.
sweet...I just got back from San Antonio from buying a booth. Looks like we may do this for some side $. I know in Sacramento it was 75-150 a day.
rad**** my bros AFB in ALamagordo (spelling?) had that type of shop...that was kool as hell! couple bucks for a space with lifts jacks and fully stocked tool box...specialty tools behind the counter...buy oil ,belts and hoses there (all common stock parts) ..and a paint booth ...full on mechanics shop i tell ya! Wonder what that would cost for an average joe bob to open up a do-it-yourself shop? 5 bays maybe more..tools...parts..booth..certified mechanic on duty to help and keep the place runnin...hmmm think theres any room for a shop like that?even have a body repair area to chop **** up.. liability insurance would probably be the back breaker
