Just cleaned out the sealant stuff from my rusty driprails on the falcon it was all shrunk up and holding water / dirt in the cracks. What do you guys use to seal these back up? I have seam sealer but it never seems to go on smooth. Any help or tips appreciated

    Hey,

A product called Eveico seam sealer has been the standard for over fifty years. DON'T use anything with silcone in it!

Most body shop supply stores should have seam sealers on the shelf. I think NAPA had the cheapest at around $12 if I remember right, but it might not be the best. Most tubes cost around $40.

I have always used 3M seam sealer. I wet my finger in grease and wax remover to smooth the sealer to perfection. Make sure the sealer is paintable and yes, do not use anything with silicone in it, you will hate yourself for it.

Good drip check sealers don't require tooling or smoothing.... they flow so if you have a steep slope use sparingly and make a dam out of masking tape to stop the runs if you use too much.
