I use State Farm for my Hot Rod, my 06, and my house. they have treated me well in the past.

My rod is on a Agreed value policy.

They have roadside, and windshield, and other stuff.

having coverage on vehicles during construction, non-op comprehensive, couldn't hurt, In my case it means I'll get something as apposed to nothing.

I have used hagerty for years. They are very reasonable and easy to deal with. Stated value as well.

  5. Check out ANPAC. I've got my house, daily drivers and my hot rod under their "Chrome" coverage. I found that their Chrome coverage was the most liberal as far as miles, using the car to drive to work every once and a while, occasional drag racing, etc.

They weren't the cheapest though. Not bad, but not cheapest.

start with a good agent who you can trust and understands what you're looking for. They're your real advocate if anything ever gets weird.

Hagety is an AGREED VALUE carrier. It is an important distinction.
The client proposes a value they want to be insured for and Hagerty AGREES that they will cover him for that amount.

With stated value the INSURANCE COMPANY states what they will pay.

Grundy (800) 338-4005 was offering a multi-car-bundle deal. I have not checked it out but you might want to.

I have had a multi car deal with Grundy for years. I heard recently that Jim Grundy has grabbed his company back from Philadelphia Indemnity and that can only be good news....

Does your multi car deal include "regular" cars, you know your wife's SUV and the kids high school/college cars or just specialty cars?

Hagerty have been a pain in the ***. They won't insure my shoebox because it doesn't have a low jack theft system. I went with Allstate instead

For all those that have hagerty do you have a low jack on your car? They bust my balls over this and won't insure me

Infinity's cl***ic car policy is very comprehensive. However they do not do HOA policies. I use to sell insurance back a few years ago and Infinity's policy had many real situation benefits at great prices.

My Son has Haggarty, no Lojak, and they covered him. Do you keep your car in a garage ? Maybe that is the difference, or maybe where you live.

I have Grundy but had a weird situation the other day. I called because it was time to renew and I wanted to pay. For two days all I got were recordings, one that said "mailbox full". I finally went to another extension and got a human and asked for a Supervisor. Nice lady came on and I told her I had been trying for two days to renew and couldn't get anyone. She apologized and said that when Philadelphia had the business they had forgotten to send out renewals for all of May, so now Grundy is being flooded with 2000 calls a day. She took my info and renewed me.

I just saw a segment with Dennis Gage and Jim Grundy and Jim says Grundy insurance now covers all your vehicles, even your daily driver. Their are 3 levels.......1) Daily drivers 2) Occasionally driven collector cars, and 3) Collector cars. Next time I renew I will find out about insuring my daily driver with them too, on that I have Geico now.

Be careful in choosing the kind of policy. If I remember right, STATED VALUE means the insurance company will pay up to the value stated on the declarations page of the policy BUT not more than they say the car is worth. They could, therefore, insure your car for $25,000 but when it is stolen or destroyed, they can come back and say it was only worth $20,000 and that is what they pay.

An Agreed Value policy shows the amount agreed upon by you and the insurance company. If the car is destroyed or stolen, that is what they pay. No negotiation, no disputes.

The third way of insuring a car is call ACV (actual cash value). This is how typical family auto policies are set up. They don't agree to anything before a loss. After the loss, they determine what your car was worth before the theft or accident and pay you that amount less your deductible.

Some of my friends use Allstate and State Farm for their everyday cars and their specialty cars. They insist that they get agreed value with those companies. I am skeptical.

You are skeptical and you are correct. State Farm and Allstate allong with the bulk of well know insurance companies DOES NOT WRITE Agreed Value policies.

I have american collectors, they have agreed value. I never had a claim but they have good reviews. My gto at 20k and impala at 5k only cost me $203 a year.
