I got a new project. Do any of you have an early Ranchero you can post a picture of for inspiration. Trying to figure out where to go with this project. Maybe a Gasser.
Hey Miller, I bought a 62 ranchero about a month ago,it's getting every thing changed. Gone is the 170,the trans and the wimpy 7.5 rear end. It's getting a 87-95 5.0, t-5 5 speed, 73-77 8" rear out of a Mav.- Comet (3:25-3:50 gear).Just got through with the floors and the rust in the foot well under the panel just behind the cab. Next is the clean up of the engine bay and mock up of the eng. and trans. Then a V_8 front end. Got a lot to do,but what the hell.Gotta be doing something, better than setting on my butt and watching the world go by. This Ranchero has been in a barn sence 1990.old DOT truck,no major damage and no rust through on the body that i have found so far. Good luck with yours. Butch Evans(Falconeer) Thomasville NC
I am leaning towards a straight axle kit from Speedway and making it into an old gasser style. Then I would get rid of the 170 six and put in maybe a 302 with an old school tunnel ram. I saw an orange one at the Goodguys show here in Phoenix and it looked pretty cool.
OT, but a little inspiration. http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/hrdp_0801_1965_ford_ranchero/viewall.html K.
