cool tricks

: use a ball of aluminum foil as a scrub pad to remove rust blooms from chrome. dip it in hot soapy water and rub the rust away. it doesnt scratch the chrome and its great for wheels.

Want to make a STRAIGHT cut in a length of tubing or pipe with a handsaw? (& you don't have a miter box)

Put a hose clamp on it to use as a guide.

 

I sold a pair of chrome "thunderbird" valve covers that were on my 62 galaxy xlthat were covered in surface rust.The wadded up alum foil and lots of elboe grease and i got 125.00.IT WORKS!

 

use clear red spray paint from advanced auto to bring faded pink tail lights back to life.

 

for broken bolt extraction in a real bind:
drill #30 hole in stud
pound in a torx bit and turn it out.
the torx bits are hard like screw extractors and have a slight taper so they bite in mega hard.

 

use atf and methyl hydrate as a ring release liquid. pour in and let simmer for 24hrs
