460 in '37 Ford - Big Enough Radiator?

    At some stage i'll need to figure out how I'm goign to keep the 460 in my '37 cool enough.

    The 460 water-pump shaft clears the stock radiator by about 3/4".

    And as the front sheet-metal is all stock I cannot go any wider/higher.

    So how likely to keep the big-block cool is the stock-but-recored radiator??

    Rule of thumb is you need for every cubic inch, you should have the same in square inches in finned core size.
    Example.........if the motor is 460 c.i. you should have around a 21x21 finned are for the core. 21 x 21 = 441 which is close.
    This is not etched in stone either, just a plan to help figure out cooling.

    Spend the extra money on Copper and Br*** and give these guys a call. They will build it to your specs.
