Hey Car Lovers, I am new to Jalopy Journal and looking for a way to sell (or get the word out on) my 1939 FORD 2 Door Hot Rod / Rat Rod... I have tons of info and pics on what is under the hood and into the body. Unfortunately I lost my father very suddenly last year, and all I can manage in my life is the 1977 Bronco he left me. Thanks ~Kristen
sorry for your loss, welcome to the HAMB, that's an awesome car, i'm pretty sure someone out there will be able to help
Kristen, Sorry for your loss, if you look in the cl***ified section, you will see what see out there. How much do you know about the car, or cars in general? You can add photos into an album on this site or link to flicker or one on the photo sites. Please don't refer to it as a rat rod, that is a bad term around here; it is a long story, not worth explaining.
Ok, with a lil help... I've listed it in the cl***ifieds... I know A lot about it... Sorry about your Dad. Here is some advice from another Dad. Keep the '39 and sell the Bronco. The '39 Ford is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. That is a car I could drive every day and get excited about it every time.
It's always sad to lose a parent, but you will find that as you think of him, you'll smile. He'll know. Regarding the 39, I agree, if there is any way you can keep it, do it. It will be your most important link to him in many ways. Plus, if it's very realiable and reasonably economical to operate, you'll be the coolest person on your block. Likely, a larger radius than that. Please, keep us posted as to your progress.
Thanks everyone. My dad and I were very tight, and as much time as we spent in the garage- i picked up quite a bit. I was the only little girl running around with car show t-shirts on and a Snap On towel at pool parties... I never grew attached to the '39. The '34 Ford was more my style, but it was sold years ago... The Bronco on the other hand, is a project I had a hand in rebuilding. With as active as I am, it's much more my style... these are my "new" wheels...
Welcome from Texas. Sorry to hear about your Dad, but the upside is you have some great memories you can share with your kids one day. Also, you have a nice Bronco there to keep his memory alive. God Bless, good luck with selling the '39
Sorry about pops, lost mine at 67...way too young, and my mom p***ed 3 months ago. Sounds like you built some great memories together. Good lookin' 39 there, seems well thought out, should move quick. Best of luck from central Texas.
Welcome to the hamb, I know your loss. It is difficult when your folks p***, but keep in mind, we have heaven to look forwad to as believers! My dad bought a 40 tudor for his first car, so in 1975 I built a 40 tudor to honor him. He drove it and said his was better because it had a flathead in it, not a sbc! I miss my dad everyday, as I'm sure you do, God Bless...
