young'uns... do you watch a lot of the Beverly Hillbillies? wish I had someone to show me the ropes when I was a kid.
I'm really happy for you both. I really wished my dad had taught me what he knew. Not only for the memories, but for the know how and savings that goes along with doing your own work. You're a good father!
I don't get much garage time, 5 kids will do that, but my oldest is 13 and has an interest. Every time he catches me up to something, he comes in and asks what I'm doing. He pulled sidedraft carbs for me a couple of weeks ago. It's great to get some father-son time doing something we both enjoy. He's been going to the dragstrip with me since he was real little and now he's doing everything he can to earn a buck so he can buy his own car. I have my ears open for him but I'm not actively hunting yet. Makes a father proud to see his son's hands get dirty. devin
GOOD JOB! I came home today and my 5yr old had his bicycle upside down, hands full of grease and a screwdriver in his hands. Chain fell off his bike and he pulled a tool out to "fix it just like pop would". Proud moment for this dad.
