Do you know the history of this survivor '35 Ford coupe I brought home last weekend?

After driving to McCall Idaho and back in a 25 hour 2 day whirlwind, I am now the guy I used to envy.

A buddy of mine's father-in-law decided to sell the 1935 5 window coupe he has had for a few years, and after talking one guy out of it because the guy wanted to put independent suspension, a small block and a new paint job. Though I was the second one to call him on it, he knew that a car like this, well, you don't do anything to it but drive it.

Ron got it from one of his long time trucking buddy Daryl's widow after he p***ed away. Daryl got it from a guy named Robert Patrick Early who built it as his high school hot rod... In 1956! It has been stored inside pretty much since then.

It came with a rebuilt flathead with Edelbrock heads, and an Offenhauser manifold with 3 94's on it. and a '40 transmission on a rolling stand.

I found an old registration card with Robert's name and address on it in the glove box, and will try stopping by the address when I take the car to Roseburg for Graffiti Weekend the first weekend after the 4th of July. Hopefully I can get more history on it then, even if it is second hand from someone at the show.

I thought about calling it a barn find, though it was sitting in a shop for all these years, and has absolutely ZERO rust! The story behind how I got it is pretty good too. I will post it once I have it all written up.

If anyone out there know's anything about the car, or Robert, please contact me. I'd like to build the history on it.

Let me be the first to say...YOU ****! I don't even know you, and I hate you already. That car is amazing. Small block and new paint, my ***. Thank goodness the seller had the good sense to tell THAT guy to take a walk. It's perfect just the way it is. Can't wait for the rest of the story.
