I have always wanted to take a 59-61 caddy and turn it into a wagon, shorten it in the middle door area and drop the domed roof. Someday...

That grey he**** was owned by Roy Done (NW pinstriper) I believe

Check out www.he****driver.com. My buddy who's in the Phantom Coaches here in So. Cal. owns and runs the site.

This is too weird, just 2 nights ago I read an article in the May '04 Car and Driver about a kid that was obsessed with funeral cars.

When these old threads resurface it's like a time warp. It kind of freaks me out, in a good way.

The Cad that ZMan posted........About 10 years ago, there was an auction about 30 miles East of my town form a Junk Yard that when out of business with Mostly 40s-70s Vehicles. The Cad just like the one Zman posted sold for $300 (start bid was crush value of $50). They were stripping the Cad He**** it of its trim when my dad picked up his 64 Impalla. It took us a good two hours to get the car my dad bought out of there. Then we watch as the pulled up with a huge front end loader and scooped it up after crushing it best he could with the bucket, then putting it on Semi's Flat Bed Trailer for the Crusher.

I dont even know if they pulled the air cleaner off. The Car was rust free and dent free till that bucket smashed the top down.

    Ah, the memories...

The best cars I've ever owned were he****s & ambulances.

I'm in the process of cleaning up and finalizing this picture but I couldn't resist the opportunity to post the rough on this thread.
Anyone I've ever known whose owned a he**** or ambulance has praised their build quality and durability.

My first Kustom was a he****.
    52 Pontiac.
Nosed, decked, and Shaved all the handles
    Frenched headlights and teardrop tailights
53 chevy grill opening with a desoto grill
    slammed.
Later in it's life it was black.

    Wish I had it back.
