Will I need an adapter to install 1940 Ford wheel on my 1932 Ford ?
The stock rear drums have tabs to center the stock 32 spoke wheel.
The tabs hit the mounting surface of the 40 wheel and keep it from laying flat on the drum.
    Any suggestions.

    Thanks

You need a set of centering rings that support the wheel. Vern Tardel sells them.

The inner support area on the later wheels does not directly hit the tabs, You can support the outer part but the studs are too short and the inside is bad. Cut the tabs off and if you want to go back to wires, use the support rings for wires

    Thanks Andy,
You are right if I used a spacer the studs would be short. I was looking for an easy fix.
I am going to remove the drums and grind off the tabs.
When i got the car the 40 wheels hit only the tabs and did not lay flat on the drum. It was on the road that way.

    Thanks

I don't know. I'm sure some one makes them.

Mine came on my roadster under 35 wires. I changed to bent spoke Kelsey's and still needed them. They are only about a 1/4" thick. Nothing special about them.
