I am going to make a convertible out of this car, I wanted some expert advice on cutting this baby off, it is a full frame car so i ***ume i won't need extra braces, however i don't just want to grab the sawzall 2morrow and start wacking if there is something i need to do first. thanks!
Guaranteed you're going to need some extra frame bracing to keep this all in one piece. Full frame or not, the roof gives a ton of structural support. I would suggest boxing the frame full length, and possibly an X member to boot. Why do you want to cut the roof off?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Like Squablow said, why cut the roof off, or is this just a pile of junk? Do you just want a just want to make a schmuck-rod out of it ? Your profile says you have access to 1000's of cars, surely there must be a real convert in that stash to work with. I have a Convertible, but i like my other car better, it's a Pervertible, that's where the top don't go down, but the driver does.
Those are big cars and I would say brace it inbetween the doors to the floor for sure or else your doors wont shut properly. No roof on a car meant to have a roof takes away so much support. But hey those roofs are hard to chop because of the gl*** and it is your car so **** it chop the roof off (after bracing) weld up the rear doors and build a "carson" out of conduit, chicken wire, burlap, and proper vinyl. By the way those cars have the best instument cluster EVER! if you have an extra, let me know
If you ever notice, the frame on factory 'verts are always boxed. Your gonna have to box it, or weld the doors shut and jump in over the top!!

Yeah, a Carson top would be pretty cool, with back doors eliminated, if it's done right. The roofline on those Chryslers are kinda ugly, and I'm even a Mopar guy. Definitely going to need to box the frame properly, and possibly chop the windshield frame to make the carson top look good. Could definitely be cool but will take some work. I hope that's your intention. If you planned to just cut the roof off in an afternoon and drive it around without a top and with all the door gaps pinched shut from the resulting "body taco", then please reconsider.

I think they look bad *** like that but more the plymouths because stock they are real ugly. The Chryslers on the other hand are kinda cool lookin with minor stuff. but radical is nice.
i couldn't do that to my car. I thought it might be cool, but I just couldn't bring my self to do it, it is a near rust free cl***ic, i've flat blacked and am driving with the spitfire flatty and fluid drive ******, I am gettin my biz name painted on the doors and I wanted something to draw attention, but removing the top ain't going to be enjoyable in my opinion and would probably look stupid, I've got 200bucks in the car and was gonna have fun with it, but I will find other wayz, drivin in the downpore of rain today really reinforced how glad i was i didn't do that ahahah, and the pervertible is an awesome slogan. if you guyz are into the Ol skool rodz mag and Garage mag, look for my ad, we have pinup girls and the slogan, "Sweet ***etts for your Garage" later guyz and thanks for all the tips!
