Just got back from the run through the hill country. What a great selection of roads and attractions. For being disorganized, it was very well planned. I assume that was Ryan's doing? Loved every minute of it. I also bought the book. I read it cover to cover and have come to the conclusion that the boys in Texas just trumped Rodder's Journal. I can't really put my finger on it, because its a really different magazine. The features aren't really features at all. They are stories with world class photography attached to them. By far the best written hot rod publication I've ever read. You mix that with really great photography and the attention to detail and you have something I will never miss an issue of.

Anyway, thanks to the crew for inviting me and letting me be a part of all that. I had a really great time.

Oh, you tease! You realize the majority of us won't get our book for a while.

Good to hear it's been without incident. Bummed I couldn't make it.

Oh its a pretty good book. Lotsa purdy pictures and the reliabilty run was perfect. We are all reliable it seems. Everyone who started finished under their own power. Pretty good for over 50 cars. Even the Orren Roadster made it out and back under its own power even w/ the extra twenty miles she went after missing the turn to FM32. Rule #1 for reliablity runners....never follow me. What a great start to the day and now its time to get serious at the Continental Club.

Thanks to Steve W. for letting us California boys borrow his 51 Merc for the run today; it was a great way to cap the last year of working on the book. The hill country of Texas was simply stunning and as always, my Texas brothers and sisters welcomed us with open arms. It was a perfect day.

We are humbled by how many people like our little book. Thanks to all! We have a ton of photos from today but no time to upload now....we are off to the Continental Club.

    Thanks again!

Just made it back to FTW from the run. The book is fantastic and the route was fantastic. Ryan, you need to make this a regular deal! 50 showed up and 50 made the loop with no issues. Now that is a tribute to man, and woman and their machines!

By the way. We went to the event not knowing a sole. Hoping we would not be loners. But what a great surprise. Met a great bunch from San Antonio, Ryan's crew as well. I am sorry I forgot the gentleman's name who owns the Waco Kid. He took the time to talk to me and my son about the history of the ride. I was very appreciative of the time he spent.
Just makes you glad that we have such people like the ones we met in our hobby. Thanks to all!

1950Effie you were behind me for a while, very nice truck, had my back window down. Your truck sounds good taking off from stop signs.
At one time we were about 40 miles from San Antonio, when I saw Scott Ingram stop and turn back I followed, figure anyone that flies a Stearman around knows where he is going.
Great day, only wish I could have stuck around made the Continental Club tonight.
Thanks to Ryan and everyone involved. This needs to be an annual event.

I'm so jealous. If I didn't have work the last two days I'd have driven my coupe out from CA just for thr run. Stupid work......grumble grumble...

Hey it was great getting to visit w you and your son out at the Fisher Dance Hall stop. Was so glad I pulled the roadster out for the run. It was a perfect run for the Orren Roadster originally from Waco. It bit hot for her at times but she made it ok.

A 60-yo, flatty-powered hot rod running no fan on hilly Texas highways in 100-degree heat.

    Yeah, she did 'OK'.
