I'm in the process of cutting up old shirts and sweaters for rags, i have been burning through them like crazy since I started my 56 F100 build. I pulled out a bunch of blue jeans and wonder if they are any good for rags or if there are any other uses for them before they go into the trash. Any input would be appreciated.

Wow! You could sell them to someone who has a Levi Gremlin that needs a new interior! Seriously, I keep my rags separated, waxing rags, rags that get used once, say cleaning wheel bearing grease, wiping out yucky sludge and then straight into the trash. Some I actually wash, when the wife's not home, and reuse!

ya these will be strictly either wheel bearing grease rags, sludge rags or wiping hand clean rags, very few I think will fall into the rewash category. I wonder if jeans are absorbent enough to be really useful.

When I wipe my greasy hands on my pants, some of the grease stays on the pants. So yeah, they do work.

in the 80's I worked at a big automotive warehouse that had new car batteries we had to move around. so I had lots of jeans with holes and for some reason I saved them. I filled a box maybe 12 x 12 x 12 and got $30.00 for it on ebay, before ebay started ****ing. box of no good Levis. they were not greasy though and all Levis
