Thought i should share this trick. Brought home a donut and when hunting under the seat for found some of the kids Duplo. This stuff is pretty much the same o.d and radius as a 2 1/4. It even has mould makes running around the centres. Pics will explain it better. I just held a few pieces into position and swiveled them around till it all lined up how i wanted. Then made reference marks on the Duplo to show how far off the centre i needed to go. Piece of piss and really speed the job up! Just Google 'Duplo ball Tunnel' if you like the idea. Pics...
I made a mock-up exhaust out of 2" PVC and carried it to my buddy's shop to copy for my '56 Buick. Worked great.
DAMN! i was gonna mention something like this.....it's real easy & quit a lot faster than play with a **** load of one off pieces.
Dont forget about this stuff which is great but a little spendy just for one job... http://www.icengineworks.com/icewmain.htm
Does this help? <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/88VFqriPfXY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Not familiar with this Duplo stuff but it looks a little pricey based on my Google results. Great info in this thread though.
The guy was at the Lone Star Round Up this year promoting this stuff. Great idea and makes doing your own headers etc much easier for us non-experts and beginners.
Dont forget about this stuff which is great but a little spendy just for one job... A little spendy? basic 4cyl kit ( one side at a time which ****s if you are looking for symmetric ) is 400.00 and you need the clamps for 100.00 and they wouldn't have all the "add on kits" if you weren't going to need them. I would guess that for about 2000.00 you could mock up a complete 8 cyl set of plastic headers for a bit under 2000.00. How much would you pay to rent a set for a week?
