I just want to share how impressed I am with Mike at H&H. Recently I had a customer order a stock Flathead for his '41. Long story short the customer overheated the engine & blew a head, cracking the block and causing all kinds of issues. The customer called Mike and asked what could be done. He said if we paid to have it shipped back he'd fix it. Whoa..... The customer quickly sent it down & a few weeks later we got the motor back, repaired and in good order. Now That's some real serious customer service! I was so impressed I want to tell everyone. H & H is the real deal!
That makes it worth the price I believe. Customer service is hard to find these days and a repair like that is more than unheard of. Nice to hear good news for a change.
Very nice! I have Navarro heads and intake on my '51 Merc.....Nice to know he will back his product should something bad happen.
I was impressed with just there catalogs I picked of at the LA roadster show. The shit they're doing with 4 bangers . . . , they add counterwieghts to Model A cranks!!!
We lived in San Diego back in 2004 when we were building our car. I wanted an H&H flathead for it. I talked to Mike at the LA Roadster Show and put down a cash deposit on an 8BA. The following Saturday, since he was coming down to San Diego anyway, he delivered the engine right to my door!
He's in "Sweet Sickness" a great flathead documentary. He shows you the differences between 21 and 24 stud flatheads and give out some building tips. Seems like a real good guy.
It's nice to hear that someone actually stands behind their work and makes things right when they go wrong. Way to go H&H!
Those guys know their shit! If you wanted a cake done right...would you go to Ralphs or Betty Crocker? They are the place to go for flattys....
I had all my machine work done for my flattie there. I live two blocks away. Mike was always glad to see me, and always took the time to answer my questions. I just got the motor all buttoned up. All the clearances were right on the money, and it started on the first try. It's a bit intimidating going into the shop. All the guys that work there are working hard and look kinda mean. But once you say hi they are happy to help you out. Sometimes I forget that I can just go there and buy anything for my flat head. He will walk out back and get the part. No problem. I always call him a rock star because he is all the magazines. Hasn't gone to his head yet though. EdiRoy.
