Yes...... a very strong reminder!!!! When we go to the drags or watch drag racing on TV (yawn!!!!) we tend to get lulled into a routine-ness as the cars run one after another ..... usually without incident. The weekend after we attended the Gasser Reunion at Thompson Drag strip in Ohio there was a fatal accident when an veteran drag racer (of many years) lost control at the top end (@150mph) sheared threw the guard rail which cut threw the side of the car...... he was pronounced dead at the scene. http://www.geaugamapleleaf.com/freestory/thompson-race-track-death Thankfully today's automotive racing sanctioning groups are so strict about safety equipment ..... saving many lives. Remember..... buckle up!!!! If you're running a high horsepower street/strip machine don't forget to install safety equipment even if you never drag race. You can never have too much safety equipment.
driver was ok and later the next day was uncovered (partially) so all could kind of have a look shame to see this tasty little beast hit the wall ...
