That is a very good explanation and now I understand--so if I buy the tires in question,I will also buy the tubes!
    Thanks

You might want to check out Diamond Back, as ALL of their radials are tubeless. :)

Trouble with Diamondback---very limited blackwall selection, and I would like to stay with 550x16 and 750x16 which I don't think they sell

I am running the same size Firestone tires, and am waiting for DB to offer a 525/550X16, as they now have a 750X16.
You can order most/all of their tires in black and WW. :)

Thanks metlmunchr for the time and effort you put in on the story. And Jess, thanks for trying to crack nuts gently, but you do need a big hammer.

I love this forum, but trying to get serious understandable info out of it is so damned difficult.

Some time back I wanted to know from anybody who is properly using (that is not looking at, nor thinking about, nor guessing what might be) the Excelsior Stahl Sport Radial so that they could provide an in depth assessment of the tire on the road.

I have been pointed in this and that direction, to this and that thread, have worn out a keyboard, and you know what? I still haven't seen a clearly defined report from anybody on this forum. I reckon half the bods haven't even comprehended the title of the particular thread in many cases.

Still not wanting to be rude, nah blow it, I'm going to be. My guess is anybody who's properly using these tires haven't got time to sit around answering questions like mine on this forum.

They're out there doing it, not talking about it.

Sorry fellas and gals. I can't believe with a population of 300 odd million we can't get a tire usage report here.

I went and ordered a set of five Excelsior Stahl Sport Radials with my fingers crossed.

You still did not really answer my question. It was, Why can you not or have you not designed a version of this tire that will have the proper rim seating bead and everything else required to be used as a tubeless tire on modern tubeless rims ?

Have the tube type version for guys who do run the old style wheels and run tubes.

Then have the second version as I said for tubeless applications. Since you introduced these tires I have seen many ,many inquiries on running them tubeless, again why not a proper tubeless version of these tires ?
