I'm still on it guys. I got the steel cut for the bed floor thanks to help from Jeremy. I'm currently in Bowling Green for the hot rod reunion. I'll start welding that bed floor in when I get back and then it goes back on the truck.

    Werd.

I'm back boys. Thanks to the most awesome JeffreyJames, I got the bed floor welded in today. Plan is to paint the floor top and bottom tomorrow or Wednesday. Then it's back on the truck and bolt the fenders and steps on. Pics by Wednesday.

Bed floor is in epoxy primer. I'm going to try to get the box on the truck tonight at our shop night while I've got a ton of help. Then fenders and steps on in the next couple of days. Pics later tonight.

Iron Lords and friends gang ****d my truck. I think there were as many as eight or nine dudes on her at once to make this happen.

I still need to get the steps mounted, then weld two bolts underneath each step to mount my exhaust. I also need to cut a hole in the floor for my battery cables to come through. Once those two things are sewn up, I get to start repairing the rust in the doors. I'll also be frenching my vette lights into the rear fenders around the same time. Once those are accomplished, all metalwork outside will be finished and all rust in the body will be repaired.

All my buddies that helped get this bed on know how much I appreciate them. But I'll tell 'em all again here publicly. You guys are the best and I'm proud to call you friends. Thanks!

Thanks. Don't worry about staying, there was almost too many people helping, lol. Looked like ants on a sandwich at a picnic.

Thanks Brett! Wish you were here too!

    Thanks Jim! Will do!

So here's a list of things I want to see accomplished in the next couple of months:
    Steps and exhaust mounted.
Hole and grommet in bed floor for battery cables.
Frenched '61 vette lights in rear fenders.
    Rust repaired in door bottoms.
Swap out upper and lower grill surrounds for '57 spec pieces.
Mount '57 grill and float center section.
Epoxy primer on rest of cab, doors, and front fenders (after stripping to bare metal).

They are all quick jobs except for the door bottoms and paint stripping. I can get most of that done in a weekend.

he said 61. The neat little round ones, they are designed to fit on a curved panel, so probably along the outer edge of the rear fenders?

We were done by about a quarter to twelve. We got the bed on earlier, and I would've been totally satisfied with that. But everybody forced me to put the fenders on too. :D

Realistically, it'll be at least next spring before paint.

Yes, I've got all the pieces. I need to swap out the upper and lower grill support pieces. And put in the grill of course.

Terd, had fun helping out last night. Glad I could lend a hand in you getting a few steps closer to being finished with it. It looks downright sweet. Can't wait to see what is in store for the future. You still going to nickname it "The Masterpiece"? (all hail Liberace, LOL!)

    Thanks dude!
