Help! I have a 36 ford pickup with the stock 21 stud engine, I think. The right head has B42 on it. I don't see B42 on any ID charts. Is this stock engine:confused:?
The frame and bellhousing numbers match. Thanks

  2. What you have is a replacement head that was cast in February 1942. B=second month, 42=1942. '32-'36 engines are 21 stud with water pumps in the heads. '37 and early '38 are 21 stud with water pumps in front of block. Ford went to 24 stud design about February of '38 after they used up their stock of 21 stud engines.
