[FONT=Tahoma, Geneva, sans-serif]Towel City slicks seem a lot cheaper in price then some other company's . Do you run Tubes in them ? Compared to Hurst how are they ? I bought a pair of Hurst's back in 1995 and I could not get them to balance with in 12 oz just my concern Towel City Are they radial Recaps ?

    Thanks Tommy

there alright, i got em on my 33 ford sedan. I'm not runnin tubes on mine, they are recaped over radials, mine are over goodyears, there on 16" torque thrust, as for balancing them mine were 25oz out, so I didn't put any weights on them, they ride fine, wouldn't want to do 125mph on them

Years ago my local circle track had rules that said towel city recaps only.. The track seeing their error in judgement dropped that tire rule the next year because so many tires that blew apart or the tread seperated and many cars needing repair from damage resulting from tire failure. I saw some of the 2011 recaps [ at a asphalt track near Nashville Tennessee]and the rubber is very hard.

Ive run them on my old t-bucket and they worked fine.
I dident even balance them, but that was a extremly light car.
Also bought a pair for my 65 ova but havent run them yet on that car.
I dont use tubes and the rubber is soft.

I've got a set and they work great. I've also got a set if hurts on a different car. The towel city are softer. They both took some work to get the balanced. You might have to clock the tire on the rim if it comes up with excessive weight requirements the first time. No tubes.

Have Towel City on my 31 for shows only. Use regular slicks for racing.
