;D It's been a while since I've been able to get the broom in this side of the garage and today was a great day, I'm sure you sll know the feeling. Last night at midnight I welded in the last part of the trans mounts and went to bed. What a mess I woke up to this morning. I didn't care though as I knew today was going to be sunny and pushing my RPU into the Sun was a smily all over feeling. Kinda like when I first pushed Poppy out. I've missed having an open car to goof off in and this one's gonna fit the bill just fine. If you look close at the last picture you can just make out the X58's I was able to find. Thanks to Sam the Covers and Intake will make the car! While it still needs a ton of work, Hell so do I. It's not far from the Highway. Shiny paint and full fenders are in the works, and although the current Wheel tire is a *****in' 60's thing I have a better plan in mind. A little more work though and that's for later on those. And Yes, I really did sweep the garage, but tomorrow it's back to grinder dust, sawdust, and weld slag.............. YEEEEHAW! Tim ' Just in case you are wondering or forgot what I started with-
X2. I don't leave the shop much at all, lived in there for decades, so it's nice to see something that does not need work That A will look sweet with fenders IMO, as the front does not look too low to make it look like the modern streetrod drop. mmmn, now to get to choose a cool old timey color.
Thanks guys, As for the inside-that's my little girl. But she says thanks for the compliments, and my Dad's shotgun is always loaded. Tim
Heo, the fronts are on 6" rims with Three Star Union 76 5:60-15's. I bought them at a swap meet 2 years ago. But I don't think you can buy those anymore, they are from the 70's. But some new 5:60 -15's should have a similar look. Tim
That pretty little girl looks awfully happy at the wheel! Is she going to let you drive HER car? I didn't know for years that my girls lust after my cars. They aren't into cars. ~Alden
Those wheels/tires are starting to grow on me for some reason. No, I don't need any, and don't have a car to put them on, but they kind of look cool, as you don't see them used much on here on older cars like A's 32's etc.
Will this be your daughters first car? Congrats on rolling the roadster p/u outside to the sun. Chris Nelson Kansas
Chris, The RPU is actually going to be mine. My little girls first car is a black '54 Chevy it's been done for a while now. The 2002 behind the RPU will be her first daily driver. I built both my kids a car first as I promised both at birth I'd build them a Hot Rod. My Son got the '33. So I'm getting to build one for me. Take Care, Tim
It's ok those wheels have a funny effect on many people. I bought them at swap meets over a three year period. First the rears, then the fronts, then I was able to find some tires. I don't think any one part of the combo is cool but when you put them together BAM! Something cool about them that's for sure. I actually have a full set of winged centers for them. Here's what I am going to run- Fronts Rears Also a longer term collection, I am going to use the front tires. The rears will need a little taller Cheater slick like an 8:20. I am more of a Kelsey guy. But something about this whole car is going towards a 60's vibe so I am going with it. Maybe it's just the influences of my childhood? Something about Rootbeer Brown or Cream Soda colors with Black Fenders keeps hammering itself into the color choices. Thanks again, Tim
funny when ever i swept out my shop i never found a pretty lady to sweep out of it , lol nice job on the Rpu
I have tried to find 5.60 15 with white line sidewall for a 60s hotrod im rebuilding but no one sems to make them
