I may sound like a loser, but the HAMB has changed my life.

I've bought & sold numerous parts on the HAMB, including a few cars & motorcycles... I got a kick ass job through the HAMB, and get to work side by side with the infamous Fat Luckys and Mercury Charlie... I've met a shitload of HAMBers and haven't disliked a single one... I've learned things I don't think I could have learned anywhere else... I've seen some of the coolest cars, tech posts, artwork, and random BS... I've spent countless hours laughing my ass off while reading the HAMB, true entertainment... I've seen the dedication & hardwork pay off for some HAMBers that have taken their projects to new heights... I've seen HAMBers come together and help out fellow members and non-members alike during hard times, whether it be personal, business, or car-related.

Plain & Simple...the HAMB rules, and many thanks to Ryan for making it all happen.

The HAMB has changed my thinking a LOT.

In fact you lot may have saved me a painful accident. I have posted links to my project 36 Chevy. One member was kind enough to point out that the Mustang II front end I have is NOT structurally sound enough. It came with the truck when I bought it, and was apparently cut out from a car. The Unibody cross member is NOT strong enough to support a regular vehicle, much less the Caddy Flathead I propose to mount there.

I have also found HAMB to be a WEALTH of information and informed opinion. More importantly, there are a good number of folks that have steered me in the proper ways to build a rod and away from some not-so-great ideas I had.

This is a great community, and I am very happy to have been allowed to be included.

THANK YOU to Ryan and all those that keep this place running.

I'm especially happy that the HAMB showed me that, even though it has fenders, a heater and a SBC, my car is NOT a street rod, it's a HOT ROD. Not one piece of billet or bling on it and most of the parts are homemade. I'm so thankful not to be in that group anymore I almost want to cry. I haven't met any HAMBers yet but am looking forward to it.

The HAMB has givin me a wealth of information on traditional hot rods, way more than I could have got from........... Well, I guess, ANYWHERE! I've met a couple of guys from this place(EVIL-T, True, jdub) PM'ed with a few others, (Continental John, chopped 50, Shane T) and so far everyone has been more than cool. Shane T has even offered to GIVE me a part I REALLY need for my 30/31 coupe.

    Thanks Shane!

I'm in the same boat as PnB'er. I've been disabled since Nov. of 2001. I've always loved hot rods(NOT STREETRODS), but never felt I could afford one.
I was into rock crawling before I destroyed my lower back. I sold all my rock rig and parts to build a hot rod, cause the street is WAY kinder to blown-out disks, and I've always wanted one.

I grew up riding in my pops rods, and used to lay in bed at night as a kid dreaming of building my own and tearing up the street in it. Now that I've found this wonderful group of people on here,(THANKS RYAN!)I know some day my coupe will get built.

I haven't been able to contribute any tech, but I hope to change that as soon as I have my back surgery and heal from it. I haven't even been able to push my coupe out of the garage to take pics to show you folks. I have been able to LEARN a TON about how to go about building my coupe, and for that, I am eternally grateful! I can't wait to give something back to this place!

I was a machinist in my past life, did that job for over 20 years (i'm 37 now).
I still have mad skills, just can't do it right now.

If anybody has ANY questions about any type of machining, let me know, and I will do everything I can to point you in the right direction.
When I'm back on my feet(literally), I will be offering my services
(with machining, ya pervs!) to anyone that needs them.

I have access to mills (both vertical and horazontal), and big and small lathes, at my old job,(the owner really liked me) so keep that in mind.

I also know AutoCad(sorta), so if anyone needs something drawn, hit me up and I'll do what ever I can to help you! That's about all I can contribute at this time, besides the occasional $10 I send Ryan(thanks again for this site!!!)

    Johnny Fast said it best:

"Ask not what the HAMB can do for you.....ask what you can do for the HAMB !"

So, if there's anything I can do to help, please, don't hesitate to ask! If I can't help you, I might know someone who can.

Keep up the good work people!

    THE HAMB RULES!

The HAMB has made me an overall better person, before I learned about the HAMB I thought a hot rod was the billetmobiles that I saw at all the carshows I went to, now I know what a real hot rod is, and I can't wait to build one, and drive it everyday. Thank you Ryan, HAMB, and Fellow HAMBers!!!!

  15. Like Nads said "its the people". I've drunk real moonshine with HAMBers outside of Squeek Bell's place, talked vintage sports cars at Paso, hung out with folks from all over the country at the HAMB drags, made friends in other countries and met like minded folks in my own back yard through this place. Learned a lot about cars and people and have even had my head turned around by this place. Oh yeah and I've heard the words of MUD & GERM and I actually miss em!
