olds 324 carb adjust

    need help on adjusting the carb just picked up a 54 olds 2 dr hard top and the car is running really rich any suggestions will be appreciated

    first......Make sure its not dripping or bleeding over while its running......Ive got any stock or speed part you can need for the 49-64 OLDSMOBILES.....give me a call

    thanks tony ill save your number, its a freshly rebuilt rochester, the two flathead screws at the base and front of the carb i believe are the air and fuel mixture screws? i turned them all the way in and 2 turns out the car hasnt ran in 5 months and i think she just needs to be driven

    Two turns out is about 1 turn too many. This setting should run extremely rich at idle.

    this may sound stupid but the screw for the idle isnt adjusting it at all could it be too short or is something else going on?
     
  6. Could be something mechanical with the carb. Can you post a pic of the linkage and adj area so we can see if it is correct?

    got it going the spring tension was too loose and the linkage was wrong been cruising around the streets of dallas all afternoon, need to bleed the brakes again getting a little spongy thanks for all the help
