That car is GORGEOUS!!! The stock grille looks great, too. Usually I don't like the horseshoes... you nailed it! Where did you get your fuel pressure guage? I can't find a dedent in-line guage that isn't blue annodized aluminum. Looks like yours just fits in-line with 3/8" double flare line? Any build pictures/tech ? (note: There's already a great PCV tech... heh heh! ) Beeee youuuuuu teeee fuuullll
Friggin Nice work mang! and just like last time - I love the Roof on that thing! With the ridges and ****. What kind of donor was that from again! WHOOTY WHOO! great look! Jon
The fuel pressure gage is a mooneyes liquid filled gage. It was the best looking plain gage I could find. (about $35). It is in line, The line is 3/8 stainless line with a 3/8 SS compression flare fitting that holds the gage. I cut 1 of the out lets off of the Tee and drilled and tapped it for the 1/8 pipe threads of the gage, It screwed right in. I tried it with a br*** fitting first just to see if it would work since the SS fitting was kinda pricey. I think it worked pretty well. Glad you like it.
It was an 80 oldsmobile wagon. The Malibus, buicks and pontiacs I beleive are all the same from the late 70s through the early 80s.
Here is a pic of the fuel pres gage I used from Mooneyes. The pic of the fitting is of a br*** one, which is what I experimented with then I bought a SS fitting just like it. The SS fitting worked even better because there was more meat left after I cut the threads off to tap the hole into.
Well ****! Now I have to go out in the hot garage and work on mine. Beautiful work, Nailed the look for sure.
Just when I think, I don't want a sedan. Holy f...ing... Absolutly perfect!!!!! Keep the pics coming.
Man, that's reeaally looking good! How much did you step the frame in the back? The stance looks right on! I keep thinking I want a hood like that but can't get myself in gear. Thanks for posting the pics,
The frame is 1.5 X 3" and the rear is stepped 5" and there is a C notch in the frame over the axle. I did it this way to step the car minimal for the look and and retain as much rear head room as possible for the back seat. It isn't bad but a normal heigth adult wouldn't want to ride cross country back there, but it is perfect for my 3 year old daughter. I'm glad you guys like it. Any more questions feel free to ask. It always motivates me to hear that other like it as much as I do.
Here is a sketch of how my frame is stepped with some dimensions. If I can find a picture of the actuall frame after I stepped it I will post it. I hope this is big enough that you can see it.
The size of the sketch of the frame did not work. If some one wants it e-mail me and I will send it to you. tracy_turner@praxair.com
Yeah I can send you a full size shot do you like the side shots or from the top? E-mail me. tracy_turner@praxair.com
