I did flip the rear. The diff does not hit the bed floor but you do need a small notch in the frame so the axle tubes don't bottom out.
Will the dropped tie rod ends that Speedway sells work? BTW, replacing everything is not a cheap proposition (if you upgrade the brakes and steering). By the time you do that, an IFS looks cheap.
I dont know 100 percent. I would look at sids site and then speedway site and if they look similar I dont see why not. Possibly they have the dimensions on the site for the tie rod drops.
Here are the speedway dropped tie rods. I don't see why they would not work. I was going to use them but just got some drops from Sid because it was more convenient.
The Speedway tie rod ends will work. I have had a couple customer complain about about the center tie rod swinging and hitting the oil pan because of the drop and they pivit on the ball of the tie rod end. Most trucks have plenty of room and there should not be a problem
This may not be for you but it might work. Check the tube straight axle out on Jeep 2 wheel drive Cherokee's. There is a possibility to place it on top of the springs and use a c notch. They are front steer, disc brake [4.5X5] and a balljoint type. I posted the measurements on a different thread, so search ,it might help. A steering arm would have to be made but is doable with the org. box. There are also threads on placing the orginal axle on top of the springs. I have no expereince with doing tho.
