And added, "...will build something again. I miss having a hot rod."So he's not the clueless dreamer you're trying to make him out to be. I, on the other hand...
Tex, you just hit the nail on the head. Back before the economic melt down, almost every other weekend was spent on the coast doing hot rod stuff. It's always been just about 5 hrs to Pamona, and not much more to other locations in the L.A. basin. It's a little harder to do economically these days, but still something pretty common. I'm going to reopen our bid to do a Trad show around here and see if anything has improved for that at this time.
Come on down to our BBQ on July 4th and meet a bunch of local hot rodders. Details are in the link below: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t+709826
I can relate to this. I don't go to the nearest to me weekly car show often enough. I swapped transmissions in my car a few Augusts ago during the day. Create your own shade and cool the concrete pad down with water, stay hydrated and work fast. Yes, it takes a real toll on what gets done.
When I was about 6, my mom said "You sure like to eat. Guess you better learn to cook." Refining that particular skill has gotten me laid a few times. On the other hand, I cant seem to recall any woman that let me hump her because I could gas weld aluminum...
Man, around New England seems there is something hot roddy to do every weekend in the summer and none of that 100 degree ********. I ***** about driving 2 hours to a show. I need to shut up and be happy with what Ive got I guess.
Garage, hell i am glad to have a concrete driveway, in south Louisiana, its a wet heat, whenchin dont have a season, if Ya wanna drive it everywhere
The missus has always been impressed with my building skills, now that we are older she is a little more demanding in the skills dept, if you catch my drift.
