1933 / 34 ford coupe wiper

just dot i 33 for 5 window ford coupe and i had some one tell me that the 33s had 1 windshild wpier and 34 had 2 is this BS

 

P***enger side wiper was optional both years.

 

My 34 has one wiper,(which I filled, so now it has zero wipers...) but if you are looking for a way to tell the diffrence between a 33 and 34 body, the easiest way to tell is the hole in the lower cowl for the rear most hood latch. 33s will not have a hole as they only had one latch in the center.

Never heard of the double wiper option, but I can tell you old Henry was savvy.

From the pics in your albums, it looks like you have a 33 body with 34 doors. There are over a hundred differences in the 2 years. There are also early 34 body's that have 33 similarities, and don't forget right hand drive cars!

What you have is a great start and a model 40 is The new 32 around here, so good luck!!!

 

You are right...I missed the door thing completely...

Looking closer at the doors, it looks like they MIGHT be 34 4 door sedan front doors which are a bit diffrent at the top rear corner and top hinge area. No giant problem, they will take a bit of work particularly around the hinge, but you can make them work.

I have 4 door sedan doors on mine, but I scored a pair of 5 window door tops, which makes the conversion waaaay easier, but 5 window door tops are kinda hard to find...In this pic, they are tacked in position and I incorporated the chop into the door top splice cut line.

yes it's a 33 body a 34 cow and 34 doors form a four door so i'v looking for a set of 33 doors but right now its not big on my list i have a lot more to get and do to get the car back on the road and have a set of 34 doors that i can or will use till a set of 33 door come down the road my way

 

Both 33 and 34 fords were standard and deluxe models. The standard had 1 horn 1 tail light on the left side and one wiper. The deluxe had 2 horns and 2 wipers and 2 tail lights.

 

Never heard of this double wiper on a deluxe, nor have ever seen one.

I can tell you one thing for sure, that all 34/3 window coupes were all deluxe models and they did not come standard with double wipers.

Also I own both a 33 and 34 5/window coupe deluxe models and neither have a double wiper option???

Not to say it was never some rare option that was available!
