    hi,
could anybody tell me what power output (circa) my 327 chevy smallblock should have? i recently measured the power on a dyno but i am not quite shure if its correct.

    the setup is as follows:

    327 smallblock, no oversize
    dome pistons, 10.75:1 compression
    200cc world sportsman heads
    weiand open plenum intake (xcelerator)
234/234 degree cam with mechanical lifters and roller rockers
    650cfm holley 4bbl mechanic doublepumper
crane digital ignition in original distributor housing
5speed t5 gear with billet steel flywheel and centerforce clutch system
    electrical gas pump

the test had to be stopped at 5.000 rpm because of a gas pump that didn´t flow enough gas... whatever, the test will be continued within the next few days and i want to see if i am within range or have mismatched oder misconfigured something.

    thanks,
    chris

dont take my reply too serious. nothing to be sorry for. you were right, i did update my profile now. i have a forum of my own and i am also quite unsatisfied if newbies ask first and introduce later. its a matter of knowing to whom you talk.

This is a link to an old post of mine. The engine has about 7000miles on it now and I just love how it performs. Maybe there are some details you might be interested in.

BTW, at that time i still had the stock TH 350 converter in it. Now I have the B&M Holeshot 2100rpm converter and it fits perfectly.

I can tell you with certainty that it makes 400hp. Any stock smallblock with a hi-po cam makes at least 350hp, add good heads and your at an easy 400. I've never had one, but all the guys down at the cruise have the same set-up and they all tell me that.

Hahaha, and I thought those Holley stickers would give you 350 Hp...

  9. "...and they all tell me that."

You forgot to add "so it must be true!" to the end of that sentence.

The Great Soowaheelie says your 327 makes 398.547 horsepower...
and not a single pony more.

Now put it in a car and go run 13's.

    Sam.
