Installing headers on the '57 Cadillac engine. Have clearance issues with a couple of bolts. The answer could be 7/16-14 stainless header bolts with the undersized head ala SBC style but in 7/16 rather than 3/8. I thought flathead Ford, perhaps as they use 7/16 as well but no luck so far. I'd appreciate it if someone advises that they know of a supplier of the bolts I seek. Regards, Ron

You could also try studs with jet-nuts,or most good bolt/nut supplyers have allan head bolts.

you can get 12 point small head aircraft type bolts from McMaster-Carr or other hardware suppliers. Can't use an open end wrench on them...but if you can use a box wrench or socket, they should do the job.

I have been advised that ARP makes the bolts I seek in two bolt head choices 7/16" with a .66 flange or 1/2" with .78 flange. They are referred to as "small hex (Six Point)". Strong as Grade 8, Made in USA, polished. They're available from Totally Stainless in Gettysburg. PA. Regards, Ron

I used grade 8 allen head bolts from Fastenall when I built my Caddy about 10 years ago. They continue to work great.

If you've got an Ace Hardware store near you, might try them. Mine, which is an older one of course, has a huge selection of nuts and bolts. Found the right thread bolts when I was doing my '60 Cadillac trans.
