Just what the title of the forum post says We hare heading out with the chevy in the next week and I am just going without any real plans. So I was wondering from July 7th to July 25th there might be something in the way of an event or show to stop and see while we make our way across the US. The route is basically Michigan and then heading southwest. J
You should take in the Iola car show at Iola Wi, Thursday 7-12 and friday the 13th are best shopping days.Lloyd
Just got back from the same trip. Make sure you do a few things on old route 66. Check out Daryl Starbird's museum in Oklahoma, about an hour off the highway, but well worth the trip. In Arizona, make sure to detour through Seligman, check out the ice cream shop.............and the Road Kill cafe too. In Holbrook AZ we actually spent the night in the Wig Wam Motel. It is a national museum, but still an active motel too, not bad for $ 58 a night either. At every state welcome center stop and grab a motel pamphlet, we managed some cheap rooms with that book. If you like adventure, take the old route 66 from Kingman AZ through to Needles. goes through the mountains and is a beautiful ride. When in LA, make sure to stop and see some of the bigger shops, Waldens, SoCal, and the Early Ford Store, also you can tour Foose at noon every day. we used this site to help plan our trip : http://66in2weeks.com try it out, and take lots of pics too!
