I need specifics on installing a Tremec 5-speed in an original 1947 Ford with original flathead. Either your experience or what issue of Street Rodder, Rod and Custom, etc where they have already done this swap. Thanks for the help and best regards.

If you are really set on a 5 speed why not just go a T5?? the tremec is pretty pricy for what is needed, really myself i'd just go a ford topload 4 speed if i thought i needed more gear behind a flattie, but i'm happy with the stock 3 speeds....

Thanks. I'm with you but this customer has like 3600 rpm at 60 mph, still original torque tube, etc and he's set on it. "Customer's always right" especially when they're paying. And yes, I've talked to him about putting bigger diameter tires on it but he doesn't think it would be enough rpm drop. Sorry I meant to put T5 and not specifically tremec. Thanks. Best Regards.
