 Does anyone know of a "gl***-man" in the Wichita, Ks area that has experience installing a one-piece curved windshield in a '40 Ford Sedan. Are there differences between the sedan and the coupe as far as the windshield goes.

  2. Takes the same windshields on both sedan and coupes............

If you are talkin about one of the bent V w/shields it may not fit either perfectly......

  3. And they look like **** from inside the car! LOTS of distortions. I got to drive a 40 PU with one. Good thing all the owner wanted me to do was some hard blasts around the civic center parking lot! (he wanted to hear it and see how it launched)

There's a guy out on the west side at the windshield shop around second and west street that knows about that kind of thing. You might call out there and see if they can give you any help.

I agree with Tman, bad distortions. Also be carefull where you buy it. Local guy bought one from big time shop that was way off. No way to install and they would not allow a return. V**** if you don't a center strip.

.....and, they are **** *** ugly. Nothing says gay streetrod like a one piece front gl*** on an otherwise nice looking 40 Ford. Once you smooth all the character off an old car, it loses a bit of its soul.

But, if that is what you like, go right ahead.

On the other hand, if you are considering a gay streetrod windshield because you are missing the parts to do it like Henry did, gimme a holler, maybe I can help you find what you need.

Good luck and holler if you need a hand. -Abone.

Thanks for the info.. I will p*** it on to the owner of the '40. I tried to talk him into a stock two piece with stainless surround. I'll see what he thinks about the comments. He had one gl*** guy out to his shop already, but they couldn't figure out how to get the curved gl*** in place. They tried from both the inside and the outside with on results. Maybe he will go with a two piece or V-**** and try to sell the one piece curved gl***.
Will post his choice when he makes up his mind.

A friend had Joe from Lewis Street Gl*** here in Wichita install a one piece curved windshield from Jefferis Hot Rod Gl*** from CA in his 37 Ford hump back sedan. The original was broken when a rock from a semi tire hit it on the way to Louisville two years ago. Grundy paid Lewis Street to replace it with another from Jefferis and although Joe has p***ed away they were able to replace it with no problem. There was very little if any distortion in either of their windshields. Hope your friend makes his own choice and builds the car the way he wants and not be influenced by others. That's what makes these cars special and fun and not just another non descript car off the big automaker's ***embly lines.
