There are (3) chromers in Erie PA. Can't remember the name(s), but the one shop does a really nice job with reasonable rates and a quick turnaround. Check the local listings and see if you can find them and then eliminate the newer shops. This chromer has been around a long time.

Sorry that I don't have more specific info.

I kinda remember an outfit called Buffalo Bumper located in or around Buffalo - anyone know of them and quality of their work?

Pretty sure Buffalo Bumper is gone. In Erie there is Qual-Chrome. Another choice is Cambridge platers in Canada

  5. Buffalo Bumper was bought up by Marlet Plating out of Rochester. The last I heard is that both are gone now and may have been bought up by Keystone which is now LKQ!

**** my head is about to explode trying to keep up with this **** around here.

Cambridge Custom Chrome is out of Canada and there are a couple of local shops that are drop-off points. However I have found out that their work is nowhere near as good as it use to be. Even the Canadian friends of mine say that they just plain ****!

Now I have had very good luck and got excellent prices from Paul's Chrome out of Evans City, PA. They usually have a vendors spot in Carlisle. Here's their link: http://www.paulschrome.com/

You might look across the border. My understanding is that the platers in Canada are still able to use the better copper plating procedure (acid I believe ) My buddies bumpers were copper plated in Canada and chromed in the states

Try Midway Plating London, Ontario 1 800 265 5705. I've had great luck with them but chrome plating isn't cheap.
