38 2 ton truck

While out for a drive with the kids today I found a 38 ford 2 ton truck. I went in took some pics and asked how much was being asked for it. The guy wants $1000 (cdn) but is open to offers. What do you guys think about these things? I was thinking it would make a cool shop truck, done up as a stake truck. Do you think the price is right? Are aftermarket parts available for these things?

some parts are avalible but some are not, i say that sounds like a little high... But it all depends on what you want to do with it. it looks like the bottoms of the doors are not rotted. Thats a good thing. But the front end looks bad!

 

You could put that on a 1/2 ton ch***is with a box and some halfton fenders. Cab, hood, grille should be the same (guessing) Is there a Flathead V8 in there? That would sweeten the deal. I like it, price seems a bit high but it's negotiable so it could work out.

 

Looks pretty good from the pix.The price does't seem too bad either.
It would make a great car hauler.
