  5. It's a 1950 Ford.

    It's mostly white.

    It's not completely stock.

If you are paying $10,000, then it's worth $10,000 - TO YOU. If it HAS to be worth $10,000 to others, then you are in the wrong hobby, go back to daytrading.

If the drivetrain is good I'd buy it for 10. Lower it, take the paint off the bumpers, get rid of the decal flame and drive it.

    Hey Hyena-
Just some friendly advice from another newb: Maybe it was made all in jest, but physical threats in any shape or form aren't cool and are probably a good way to get booted off the forum. In your enthusiasm for your 'art' you should always remember to show cl***. I don't think this group will be too forgiving of a slip, but maybe you can clear it up.

Muy Thai is a blast to watch, but always remember that the distance between your foot and someone's neck/head is twice that of the distance between the opponents foot and your balls, and a quarter the distance to your knees. You may think you're fast, but I'll bet you'd have trouble outrunning a HAMBer's car. Chill and focus on cars.

I disagree. I never want to pay more for something than I can sell it for if I decide I don't want it anymore. The guy is new and ask us for help. I still don't see pics but since shoeboxes have never been my favorite car it would have to be a dam fine one to be worth 10g to me. Maybe if it was a fleetline.

go search the cl***ifieds and look at switchblade327's ford. flaked out and way ****ing cooler than that and basiclly the same price figure. i've seen the car in person. justin does good work. you'd be wwwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyyy ahead with his car. basiclly all it needs is a wheel change and it's good to go. now go look at it. he needs the bread as he's got to many cars and to little money just like me. or i'll sell you a '55 plymouth and you can keep $8800 to finish it with...ken....

It looks like a white '50 Ford to me too. I kinda agree that it better be real nice for 10G's, nicer than it looks in those pics, but i'm not a real fan of the '50 either. They're cool enough, but not 10 grand cool without more mods than a set of skirts and apinted bumpers. I might look around and see what you could get before you buy it. I agree that if it's worth 10 to you then buy it, but I would shop a little so you are a well informed buyer.

Yeah, check out the cl***ifieds here. Not only will you be helping another hamber, youll probably get a better car for less money. But if this is a car that you really want, Its up to you.

Well...............You haven't told us much about it. Now I see it's got a Chevy engine. That's ok. What's the ****** and rear end? I still say if it's good mechanically it's worth 10. I only say that because my old 50 was a lot cheaper than that but by the time it's done it'll probably be around 10. You can pay up front or along the way, it's up to you. If you like the car buy it. That said you might be happier if you checked a few others out. The more you know the better off you'll be.

Im not getting the pics either but if I was you I'd hold out keep looking like in the cl***ifieds here. 10 g's it better be real nice, but then I hav'nt seen the one in question. It may be worth it but without a chop or any of the hard work done you may want to keep looking. If you go on ebay you can do a completed items search and see what other 10 g shoeboxes are like and get a better feel for it. Dont buy a car without seeing it or having someone who knows cars well check it out.

Where is the car is it near you.

This is a 1950 Ford 2 dr. custom sedan with a 400 small block Chevy engine. It has a 350 automatic transmission which was rebuilt 1500 miles ago. The door handles, hood, trunk and gas opening have been shaved. The car has a new paint job, new interior, seats and headliner. It has new wide whitewall tires and custom steering wheel. New 4 core desert sun radiator. New windshield and door gl***-all windows have been tinted. I think the grill is a 1954 Desoto. It also has a new altenator and water pump. Brakes system was rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. Also new shocks, valve cover gaskets, motor mounts and trans mounts. Also new freeze plugs. Has new am/fm cd player. Mechanically this car is in excellent condition. The interior is brown and white. The dash is brown as is the window molding. Carpet is light brown. I also have 2" lowerd springs that have not been installed yet

ALL of that, I still wouldn't give 10 grand for it. Shaving is something you can do yourself for practically nothing. Wide whites, cool I can pick them up for 75 bones each. New trim?? Oh that's easy, a million catalogs sell slip on skins and molded carpet for a few hundred dollars..........still not adding up to 10 grand. Even a fresh rebuilt 400 Chev motor isn't worth more then a couple grand and that includes new freeze plugs. Remember, just because this guy lists a MILLION things and says it's worth 10grand, doesn't mean that it is.....ESPECIALLY if yer just gonna change stuff up anyways.

I'd take a look at Switchblades 53.....I think they look 10times better and at least you know for sure what you are getting when you buy from a fellow Hamb'r.

all i can say is whoever built it doesnt have an original bone in his body. it sort of looks like a restoration that the guy didnt really want to get "too heavy" into or spend too much money on. provided everything is good condition, a car like this one goes for around $5,000 here.

but then again i dunno jack.

Looks like a '54 Chevy grille but that still doesn't make it worth 10g's to me. I don't think I'd spend over 6k on it.
