    I own a 1970 Checker Marathon --
not your typical hot-rodder but I'm basically here just to give this beast the best possible street engine possible. My availability to work on it sucks, budget sucks and its on the other side of town. Triple whammy. But I have patience and willingness to do my research and learn. Some things are a mystery to me due to lack of resources. The only repair manual I could find is a 1978 version. Luckily these cars didn't change all that much! Anyways, thanks for the info guys/ gals I've lurked for awhile so thought I'd finally register. Great site!

  4. CD: Those cars had a purpose. They look heavy and square and all that but you still see one now and then. I have the speedometer out of one and it registers 140.....if you can imagine actually going that fast in one. Tim

Had mine on I95 going to North Carolina last year--(appr. 70-75mph) in the fast lane and it was a bit intimidating at first. My dad claimed it wasn't safe but that didn't stop me.
If the wind was blowing any harder that might have!
