Got tickled the other day at a post I was reading on another site. There was this gmc truck for sale and the picture of the paint on the site was a pretty good looking paint job. So, I started to investigate the ad a little more and lo and behold there on CL was the same listing, but the truck had the most faded paint job you could have short of a rusted paint job. The pics were taken a little farther away and you could see the puddles underneath the truck. What other tricks are out there that ya'll have seen that get ya tickled or just ticked?

  2. Get the engine warmed up before I get there. I want to know if the choke works and the engine will start cold.

Yeah the wash the car trick is also good for when you're going to look at it because it hides real leaks, learned that one the hard way. "No leaks" and just washed means no you can't tell which of those are leaks and which are water spots, and by the way every single fluid on this vehicle is leaking from radiator to rear end.

Or dumping some super heavy weight oil in to disguise bad valve seals or blow-by.

My father-in-law washes them then drives through the gr*** or near but not on a gravel road before he trades or sells them. He wants a very light dusting over a clean vehicle that will hide some minor imperfections.

And I love the 15 or 20 year old pictures...if they were decent it can fool you. Fortunately it's pretty easy to tell a 35mm photo from 1994 from a digital photo of today but sometimes not! Unless there is a mullet, pepto-bismol pink paint and billet of course.

Spray the whole car with Armour All or tyre shine. They come up nice and shiny until it rains
