Hello everyone, I've been a member for a couple months but this is my first post. This car is a 1956 Dodge Royal Lancer. It has original (faded) paint, which I am going to keep as long as possible, and the original 315 Super Red Ram 4 bl engine which runs great! I've owned it about 8 months and plan on keeping it until they bury me in it. The first thing I will do is replace the seat covers with SMS material and that's about it for a while. The door panels look great as well as most of the chrome. Later down the road (when finances allow), I'll switch the brakes over to disc and rebuild the engine. Maybe change the heads to the 315 Hemi or just kick what I have up a few notches. I'll try to attach some pics. Looking forward to tips from you guys. Thanks, MW
Wow, really nice car! I appreciate you taking the time to tell us a little bit more about yourself and your project. I never see these around here because of rust issues, most are driven into the ground years ago and if there is a barn find they are just rusty pieces of junk parked in a barn! I envy all you guys that live in areas where there is still decent tin. Thanks.
Cj, I actually found it on the local craigslist. From what I understand, the seller who was a brief second owner, tried to sell it a few months before, but no one made an offer. He dropped it a few thousand and listed again, that's when I saw it. He owned the garage that kept the car up for the last 15 or so years and was sold the car after the original owner couldn't drive anymore. To make it even better, he thought it was a 270 instead of a 315. That, plus the fact that it needed nothing make it a regular driver, made it a must have. It pays to periodically check Craigslist.
