Actually, what kind of wrench do I need to take them out? Or do I need to fabricate a home made tool?
Wow, Haven't seen one that big. There were some of those in a Chevy I worked on, but smaller. I used a regular flat blade screwdriver. What's it holding on?
I can't tell what size it is from the picture. They're pretty common on old chevys, for screw sizes #10 to 5/16" They strip pretty easily, so take the necessary precautions or you'll be drilling it out
This particular one is holding the column shift barrel to the steering column. I ran across a few of the smaller ones and after taking an old flathead screwdriver to the grinding wheel, I got them out. Not sure I want to butcher another screwdriver to get two bolts out. Now I shall be looking for a clutch head. Chers!
Oh...that's what that is. On the larger sizes like that you can often get them out with a flat blade screw driver, I'd give it a try first, but gently.
Ditto,...Clutch head,.....Used a lot, to secure ign lock cylinders to steering columns. Be certain the tool fits as tight as possible, and take your time. 4TTRUK
I ordered a set of 4 big screwdriver handle ones through my NAPA for my old chevy truck. A good hardware store will have a few to go into driver bit handles.
Irishman They actually make screw drivers for clutch head screws. I have called them clutch head screw drivers in the past but that is probably not the correct name.
clutch head, You can completely take apart your whole trailer house or camper. with one clutch head screwdriver bit...
